Version 0.8.6ß
• In this major revision, Flypaper is no longer direct-to-disk. It is now direct-to-ram. The amount of free ram events is shown on a thermometer in the log window. Flypaper uses 70% of the available application memory (set from the Finder) to determine how much space it has in RAM for MIDI events. File format has not changed, and your older Session documents will work with this new version.
• Saving files has been greatly improved, and is much more stable. Similarly with opening files.
• Several check-points for saving and opening errors as well as out-of-memory conditions have been added to ensure graceful handling of these error conditions.
• Column labels for the log window fields
• Operations have been optimized so that recording MIDI data to Ram is very fast. Showing MIDI messages in the log is the lowest priority, after recognizing incoming cues. Performace speed of the system has been greatly enhanced, but the same rules follow as in previous versions: for maximum speed, turn off "Blink Definitions," "AutoScroll", and "Auto Bring to Front" options in the Options menu.
• Options are saved to preference file. PLEASE DELETE YOUR OLD PREFERENCE FILE, as this may cause problems. It is located in the System Folder and titled "Flypaper Prefs."
• The Transportable Updater is now Ram-based as well. The new version of the Transportable Updater works with larger MIDI dumps from Flypaper (e.g., doesn't cause a crash).
• "Exhaustive All Notes Off" is an option in the Options menu now for those with synths that don't respond to the "All Notes Off" midi controller.
• Investigated Dan Kearn's "Count Occurances" bug, but little progress has been made reproducing this bug. However, you may no longer search for a keyboard, slider, etc. (This didn't make sense before). You must search for a MIDI cue on the Find menu's "Enter and Find."
• Bug in using channel menu to set a cue with a '#' in it's definition is now resolved. This bug made the channel menu do strange things.
• Playahead amount from Options menu would not check the currently selected amount properly. Afterimages of previously selected playahead time amounts would leave more than one item checked on the pull-down menu. Fixed.
